Scope and Responsibility

  • Be actively involved and competent in both USP and DSP operations, a specialist in USP or DSP and work on closing any knowledge gaps as much as possible.
  • A specialist scientist will also be an SME in a technique or technology currently under supported in PTI or support other SMEs in knowledge of larger critical systems.
  • Lead medium to large sized projects such as larger equipment demonstrations and essential new technologies.
  • Supervise and run regular routine operations and support larger operations. This includes setting a good example of working to PTI and development colleagues when in the lab.
  • Take responsibility for program and scientific meetings for 1-2 processes and be the PTI/Pilot representative. Enable suitable planning of pilot and material generation batches to maximise control of tech transfer, material ordering and resource planning.
  • Author, complete and review routine documentation such as study plans, batch records and routine reports.
  • Train and coach employees at all levels in Alvotech methods and procedures and manage required training for the employees’ position. Utilise every opportunity to train peers in methods they are not familiar with.
  • Work to EHS guidelines and endeavour to make improvements where required whilst reporting any EHS incidents.
  • Form cross functional working relationships acting as an ambassador for PTI with support departments such as Automation & IT, Engineering, QC and USP/DSP/DP Development[KS1] .
  • Seek continuous improvement opportunities within PTI, and potentially for the wider R&D group
  • Bring new ideas for technology or methodologies for investigation from industry, conferences, or other sources

Job Requirement

  • BSc in relevant topic with at least 7 years experience.
  • MSc in relevant topic and 5 years’ experience
  • Significant relevant applied experience from either a Development or Manufacturing background in DSP or USP.
  • Enjoy hands-on work.
  • Flexible and can work accurately, both in a team and individually.
  • Critical questioning of procedures and experiments in order to improve departmental outputs.
  • Pro-active, problem solving attitude.
  • Communicate clearly at all levels in order to get your thoughts, ideas and knowledge across in a constructive way.
  • Planning and organization skills in order to keep an overview of the necessary work and meet deadlines.
  • Works in an active, collaborative, constructive and respectfully manner with all colleagues within and across departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with flexibility in a changing and demanding environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure within tight deadlines and solving issues as they arrive with minimal supervision.
  • Understands the positions within the department with aspirations for improving knowledge and developing skills required within the team.
