PhD Scholarships:DTUDK

The PhD projects will be conducted at the CHEC Research Centre at DTU Chemical Engineering. CHEC is internationally recognised with respect to research in combustion, emission control, gasification, modelling, cement production, advanced measurements in boilers and catalysis.

DTU Chemical Engineering seeks qualified candidates for a number of vacant PhD positions. Candidates are invited to apply for a specific project from the list. Additional information concerning individual project proposals should be obtained by following the links below or contacting the supervisors.
  • Combustion Chemistry in Marine Engines. PhD position in the area of high-pressure combustion chemistry in internal combustion engines. The research project involves development and validation of reaction mechanisms for dual-fuel oxidation, e.g., n-heptane/methane and n-heptane/LPG.
  • Optimization of geo-polymer cement production technology. The possibilities to make an efficient geopolymer cement production with a potential for commercial utilization shall be investigated in this PhD project. The study will include tests of alkali activated materials, and an investigation of the possibilities for optimizing and upscaling of the production process.
  • Ash transformation in waste boilers and optimization of novel steam superheater. The PhD will investigate the influence of boiler operation conditions on a superheater that will be installed on a full scale waste to energy plant in Næstved, Denmark. The project will include furnace chamber measurements, development of new advanced measuring equipment, and CFD calculations.
